Experiment with the world of cosmetics and make-up tools, the girls relate to this world, guy's have to learn that there is more to photos the Mountains and being "technical".

Remember this, OK... Women write the checks to pay-for Photos, guys don't... Women are the PRIMARY CONSUMERS, in the Western World...

Thank you for the advice, Paul. On the technical side, I do wonder if bringing out some of the details on the handle (there's a metal plate on it), will make the photo more effective.

And thanks for the tips on photography subjects. The rainy season is here, and the sun makes rare appearances these days. I do think I have a pair of scissors with a blue handle somewhere.

If I knew how to do a screen shot of this... I would. And e-mail a copy to my three guys that are out of town forever. Then I would print one out and hang it on my wall. And make copies for my Christmas cards. I've never heard this... let alone seen in writing... on a forum that has viewer all over the world.

If you have Windows 7 you can use 'snipping tool'. START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/SNIPPING TOOL. You can either just run the program as you need it, or right click on the entry above and click 'pin to taskbar' to put it on your taskbar permanently. Just save the output and upload it to here using the Tinypics option, or send your screen print file (JPEG) in email etc. You can even include menu pull-downs in the capture - like the example below by doing this...

• Click to open Snipping Tool.
• After you open Snipping Tool, press Esc, and then open the menu that you want to capture.
• Press Ctrl+PrtScn.

Sorry, I should have said something about your shot. I was still thinking about it. I do like it, but yes, perhaps the handle is a little bright as it does melt too much into the backdrop. Are we turning this into a ladies accessories thread then? I'm game - we have been experiencing monsoon weather for the past 24hrs so some indoor shots of the many accessories that my wife owns is the perfect solution to the problem of what to do in bad weather... May we post them here?

I am game too. Gives me a little project. Lately, I have had trouble finding subjects with overcast weather, and little colour other than green, lots and lots of green everywhere. So, I have been photographing things nearby, like this hook, and an optical illusion on our stairs (maybe I should post that one). Looking forward to your ladies accessory shots too.

OK. I have spent the latter part of the afternoon rooting through my wife's wardrobe for accessories (that doesn't sound right does it?) Here is my contribution to the accessories thread. Both shot with Canon 5D Mk2 (ladies accessories require the heavy guns) and Sigma 105mm macro. Studio lights. Didn't take long - about 30 mins including processing. What fun!
