50mm lens for a 7D
Hi folks.
I'm looking at getting a Canon 50mm f1.4 USM to use on a 7D. Any comments or recommendations on alternatives would be welcome.
Cheers.

Re: 50mm lens for a 7D
Hi Mark
I have this combo and use it for indoor poorly lit stadium where I can be at the baseline of the basketball court.
Weapon of choice more often than not and works a treat.
I also get a kick out of getting some good shots with a tiny wee lens
Have also used it for some of my experimental fun shots with narrow DOF
P.s alternative would be 85 1.8 which is good for portrait/people as well as the indoor sports....
Happy shopping

visit the www.the-digital-picture.com and read the lens report on it.
Prime len, small, light, big aperture. I got a sigma 50mm F. 1.4 EX DG HSM. Good color, excellent picture quality.
Good prime len. some said that even better than Canon.

I use this great little lens with my 7D, terrific in low light, I will sometimes put on for the day, makes you work a little more for your shots by having to move around more to fill the frame, good colour and photo quality

I have a Canon 7D, and I use a EF 50mm 1 : 1.8 ii and for me the best lens for money in the entire Canon range and gives me superb images
