Please be assured that I am honoured that someone feels it appropriate to give so much time and effort to constructively thinking about this image.

As you say, maybe the 'perfect' image sites somewhere in the middle. I think your version is lighter than the image I saw in my head at the time of capture. But having seen yours, I now wonder if indeed mine is too dark. Much pondering to be done.

And thank you for the comment re the dust bunnies. I thought I had eradicated them. I need to go through the set with a fine toothed comb again. I've been aware of dust for a while. And changing lenses in the middle of a dry and dusty vineyard is not the best thing to be doing either.

So, being the wimp that I am, I am not going to tackle the cleaning myself. Instead, we have A J Johnston & Co, authorised Canon (and Nikon) repair centre just an hour away in Glasgow. So, I'm going there on Monday. They provide a same day sensor cleaning service and are going to give the camera a clean and check-over for me.

That extract from 'Under Milkwood' perfectly captures my mood and emotions at the time of capturing this image. I know about 'Under Milkwood', but I do not know it. I find it quite breathtaking that those words so accurately and beautifully reflect what I tried to put into this image.

I wonder if the publisher would let me use that as an accompanying text to any printed/published version of this image?

    Donald,

    John got it perfectly right

If you've never read 'Under Milkwood' please treat yourself to either the text or the Richard Burton CD here:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Under-Milk-W...0739016&sr=1-1

Then find some utterly quiet time and sit back and enjoy it.....with a bottle of your favourite wine, of course (Dylan Thomas would have approved ).

I have no idea about publishing rights and the like, but I'm sure someone else will know.

    Thank you Chuck.

Hey, how was the festival? Have you got images to put up yet?
