dusting of snow
I was unable to charge about in the proper snowfall earlier on but was able to take a walk in a late dusting - not sure if these are keepers or just my private memory?

Re: dusting of snow
Hi Chris - The silver birches caught may eye, of the three. There is something about the tree itself that I find photogenic. In this instance coupled with the dusting of snow you have a good image.

Re: dusting of snow
Chris,
The last one is good. It may be even better if the moon is a bit higher than the tree.

Re: dusting of snow
Someone has to vote for #2! That's me.
I like the inclusion of the moon in this very atmospheric image. If anything, I fancy an improvement would bring the moon a tad closer to the horizon. Can that be done conveniently with PP?

Re: dusting of snow
thank you guys - I think enough interest to confirm that I was finding some potentially interesting atmospheric shots, but didn't quite make it.
Too dark to use small enough aperture for no1, unwilling to grovel in wet snow to get moon nearer horizon in no 2 (don't think cut & paste would work as the sky darkens considerably lower down) and in no 3 perhaps the moon flickering behind a tree screen is something to leave for the film guys.

Re: dusting of snow
I'd back Roxy on #2 as my favourite.
However, rather than move "heaven and earth", I wondered whether there was any more desolate, windswept field available camera left?
I figure if we had what could be considered as hidden under image #1, it would be quite effective.
Cheers,
