It kinda depends what you were after, these things aren't usually my cup of tea (oh, how english that must sound ).
Some things to try;
Perhaps less overall exposure?
Start zooming just before the shutter opens and use a speed of zoom so the shutter closes just before the zoom ends if you want to avoid the double edge effect.
That said, it might be better to have a significant amount of stationery image with just a hint of zoom blur over it.
Not sure if that works best with the small image (zoomed out) or large, it probably depends on the subject and lighting.
