The cross-threaded screw is all threaded out

    Hi guys and gals

Sorry and all that, but I have to finally bow out of CiC. I should have done it when I ceased to be a Mod, but I didn't. Judy and I want to spend more time travelling and we have, it seems, more and more commitments as we slowly grind on to old age. I also want to spend more time improving my photography (yes, I can improve).

Also, I don't have long left to live. Judy gives me a max of ten years, provided I don't annoy her mother again... that was my last Woody Allenesque joke.

I shall still be posting on Flickr (see link at bottom) and if you would like to contact me (I would like that) it's best to use Flickr mail. Please don't ask any questions in this thread, as I will not be looking. In any event I am away pretty much the whole of the next two months.

I wish you all the very best in your photography, and hope that you have good health - it's more important than photography, believe me.

    Regards

    Rob

    Rob,

    Gonna miss you Dude....

I have only been here a couple short weeks, and in that time two members of the site whose posts I have thoroughly enjoyed have gone and posted their departure notices. IMHO that is comparable to writing your own obituaries long before it is needed. Just because you won't be spending all day, every day here on the site does not mean you must depart, as if leaving forever on some ship destined to be eternally sailing the oceans of the planet.

You and Mary...straightforward, honest and up-front. I don't make friends easily, and I've barely had time to shake your hand and remember your name, and now you are gone.

Hate to ever use these 3 letters successively, but I must ask...WTF? The cross-threaded screw is all threaded out

This is hard. Losing two major contributors in the same week? Lord, I hope it wasn't something I said! Although I'll wish you a fond farewell, it is my hope that both you and Mary will chime in from time to time as you feel you can. Take care my friend. I'll miss you.

@ Rob: All the best -- may life bring you all that you seek in your future endeavours.

As one who'd been here a few years now, it's sad to think back and remember all those who have come and gone over the years -- I'm not sure I totally understand the dynamic, but it seems that for most, our membership is but a "bus stop" - every day a few step on, and a few step off -- a lot like life really. And as with life, I hope that those who choose to share small portions of their life's journey here with us, enjoy the ride.

Rob I have thoroughly enjoyed your contributions to the CIC site for the short period I have been here.
However, life must go on and I wish you and your wife good health and above all a lot more photos on Flickr.

The Scot is going to take a bashing now Rob. Enjoy your 'retirement'.
Will look out for some more classic stuff on Flickr.

    Rob,
I cannot add anything that has not already been said other than that I enjoyed and got inspiration from you photography and reading all the banter.

Best wishes to you and Judy, Rob - thanks for your advice and good humour.
I will have a beer and pizza tomorrow night and raise a glass to 'friends' we have never met.
    Cheers from me too.
