    I like how that bike shot looks. I'd be curious (for instructional/demonstration purposes) how it the same shots would look with the flash only and no softbox.

    Here you go, Rob. This was shot with a lot of changes on the setup. The SB-24 flash was positioned farther. It's about 2.5 feet away and about 2' feet high but still at the same 1/16th power. Camera was set at ISO 200, f/16 at 1/400 second. lens used was my 18-70mm lens at 65mm. 2 white paper reflectors was used. One camera right to bring back details on the side facing the camera and one more reflector camera left to give some more detail on the front end of the bike. Hope this helps.
