If you want a free programme that will give you natural results, try SNS-HDR Lite. You can download it here. The site is in Polish, but Google will translate it for you. The programme is in English. Check out this thread for more info.

I use Dynamic Photo - HDR by a Canadian company called Media Chance. I bought it because I liked it's alignment tools and it was reasonably priced.

You can find a summary of about 10 different products here. Most of them can be downloaded for free evaluation. Photomatrix seems to be very popular.

Also, if you purchase Photomatix Pro, they also have a free version of Photomatix LITE. I use HDR Efex PRO by NIK SOFTWARE it is a KILLER program, but Photomatix is truly amazing.

I bought Photomatix but I can't say I have ever felt comfortable with using it. Perhaps that is something to do with me, not the software, but generally I found it impossible to judge the outcome based on the software adjustments. Since then I have gone over to Oloneo. They have just released their HDR software after about 18 months beta testing. I find it easier to use and understand. All adjustments are by sliders with handy hints describing the purpose of each slider. In addition you can see the effects on a histogram as you adjust. Oloneo also has some really smart features for controlling and changing light sources. Finally it is easy to judge the outcome as the adjusted and final processed image look much the same.

another vote for SNS-HDR lite. Its free and it is THE best software I have used for creating natural looking HDR's. If you want to crank up the grunge then go with photomatix. If you want a HDR that doesn't have lots of halos or a grungy look use SNS HDR. As its free its defiantly worth a try and produces great results. To change output option you have to use command lines in the shortcut but its very easy, just double click on the icon for help.
Also remember that no matter what HDR software you use you should always make additional adjustments after tonemapping in photoshop for a great image

Photomatix for me also, but I have had some success with AutoHDR a very good freeware program.

Hi, IMO it depends what you want out of the program, some people use HDR to the extreme and put up phographs that are like something from a painter that has spilt water over his paints, others like cartoon drawings if you want HDR to try and bring out S&H to make the photograph look realistic then try Enfuse it is free or you can buy via donation it is not to all intents and purposes an HDR program but for realism in your photographs it's hard to beat if only for the cost. The question what HDR program should I get has ben asked so so so many times and again IMO the only way to find out is to download the trials on offer and see what one does what you want it to do.
