Protective Coating for Metallic Paper
We are new to printing on metallic paper. Love the look. We are finding that the prints are extremely delicate and easily marred (more so than usual), so we would like to put a protective coating on them.
Does anyone have suggestions for or experience with a product that is compatible with metallic paper?
We are using Red River Polar Pearl Metallic Paper.
Thanks

Re: Protective Coating for Metallic Paper
Hi Jo,
It doesn't look like anyone has a definitive answer. In the past I've used a spray-on protectant called ClearStar, but I really don't know how it would go with metallic paper. Perhaps the paper supplier might have some ideas?

Okay, I've done more research and some testing. PremierArt Print Shield does a great job. It protects from moisture, UV, and scuffing but doesn't alter the incredible sheen and glow of the paper.
I love it when things work out well!
