Thanks, Steve. I have an idea in mind and that is how its started. Then, considering what I have with me, I try to develop the concept piece by piece. First, I shot the clone trooper figurine on a gray background and lit by my DIY softbox. Then, I took a shot of a dried sunflower under the same lighting so it would come out as if they are shot at the same location under the same lighting. The tree I shot from a nearby park, and the background and ground are from stock images I have on my collection. Basically it really boils down to a concept that you have and then develop it further using layers in Photoshop.
