Nikon optical lens shaking
Hello, I wanna ask about nikon lens and maybe someone can help with this..
My friend want to sell 105mm micro VR f/2.8, but when I try the lens, I can see the optical is shaking everytime focusing specially if using the VR mode. My friend said that it is normal.. Is it true that this condition is normal.. Thank you..

Re: Nikon optical lens shaking
It is normal if you are shaking the camera. There is a sound as the focusing mechanism adjusts to your movement.

What you can see if the VR (Vibration Reduction) working. It does this by moving one of the groups of elements in the opposite direction to the way you are moving.....you will also see and feel the AF trying to keep up with distance changes if you have the focus select on C.
Short answer - yes its normal.

Re: Nikon optical lens shaking
I would try out the lens with your camera and see whether it produces sharp results. The shaking could be normal (I don't really notice it in my lens), but the end result is what counts.

Some noise/shaking is normal. Mine does too. But not very much.
Go to a shop and try another one and compare it. You are the only one who knows the shaking and noise exactly.

Try it handheld and then on a tripod. You will notice it less on the tripod as it has less camera shake and focuses more quickly.
