Nice to see some pics taken in unadulterated countryside Dave. The heath reminds me of Dunwich - haven't been over in Suffolk have you? We go to visit my daughter.

that must be the ultimate frog pic Jonathan; do you put drugs in the pond so you can get that near without them, er hopping off

They were kind of distracted for some reason. They let me set up a tripod next to the pond without moving an inch. The other thirty or so frogs had all submerged, occasionally doing the "up periscope" thing before hiding again.

Forgot to mention - this was the el-cheapo 70-300G lens which works much better than it ought to for the price.

I am pleasantly amazed at how much better this version works than the original 'portrait'; the front starburst which previously was competing with the sky is now a good anchor point (at least I think that is what is happening) - and the batches of 4 lights now less powerful than the previous threes; Gestalt psychology! all is forgiven

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for that. Truth be told, I don't shoot a lot of landscape in portrait orientation, but a friend of mine needs verticals for a calender he shoots each year and he's usually short images for it - so I usually "flip the camera around" whilst I'm shooting other suff on the off-change that I get something he can use - so I just put them up here for "good measure".

    Hi Chris,

No, not Suffolk, Surrey; Chobham Common to be precise.

Came closer (than I normally do) to Suffolk yesterday, driving up M11, A14, A1.

Currently staying with my sister in North Yorkshire, but it is too darn cold to contemplate going up on the moors this weekend!

    Cheers,

    Hi Crusty,

I'm not seeing an image in Post 30 - not sure if it's supposed to be the same as post 31?
