Got my new 50mm F1.8 from the UPS guy today along with a new 55mm-250mm F4. I haven't had the opportunity to play with the long lens yet, but I went out this evening and took a few pictures of the stray/pet cat that seems to have adopted us.
With the addition of the two new lenses I suddenly find myself in need of a new camera bag.
As for the pics, I think I'm going to like this lens.

Congrats on your 50mm prime lens, Kris. You'll definitely learn a lot about sharpness and image quality using this lens. Hope to see some more results from the lens.

Congrats, Kris, it appears you're getting along just fine with both the lens and the cat. Just too bad you weren't adopted by stray lenses and buy a cat.

I got lucky in both cases. My brother-in-law gave me the 50mm free of charge since he upgraded his own 50mm. I have one of those brother-in-laws that has to have the biggest, baddest, and fastest of everything. He's bought three L lenses for nothing more than taking family pictures with. When I say family pictures, I mean snap shots of the family vacation and such. His taste for bigger, better, and faster goes for everything from cars, to guns, to cameras. Drive my sister crazy!
