Re: Growing Up
Love how the curve of the plant is paralleled by the bristling caterpillar. Good stuff!

Re: Growing Up
That's a very good photo-clean, sharp,good colour - very attractive too and not least because most like this are with the beastie (critter ) straight.

Re: Growing Up
Thanks John but I was a bit bothered with the blur on the leaf.

Re: Growing Up
Hi Al,
Another "Al" shooting macro; I just commented on Snarkbyte's image, this is too confusing
Anyway, to yours;
I would have tried a bit of on camera flash as a fill here, time permitting as the move and munch quite fast.
Iy would need some -FEC (negative flash exposure compensation) so as not to overpower daylight. It may be possible, if shot RAW, to raise fill light to recover some more detail in the body.
Perhaps a slightly lower view point to clear the leaf edge?
Easy for me to say, but I know both suggestions may not have been possible at the time.
Alternate title idea; "Life's ups and downs"
Cheers,

Re: Growing Up
Oh cool two "Als" but I'm prettier than the other Al . Thank you for bringing up those suggestions, and I'm going to look into it. I was thinking "The Vegeterian" for the title but I just don't understand why I wrote Growing Up.
