It wouldn't take too much to clone out that wire running across the image and the one going out the top about a third in from the left. Doing that would, I think, improve this one enormously.

Three lovely images Dave and Donald is spot-on with his cloning advice in #1.

Re: Shades of Pink
Thank you Donald and Keith for your comments and advice. Duly noted and acted upon ! I should have picked it myself - I did manage to crop out a traffic sign before the first post.

Re: Shades of Pink
Dave,
Beautiful flowers in all three pictures.
On the second, two things jump out at me. One, I wish the DOF was deeper so I could see more of the flower in sharp focus. The shallow DOF may be exactly what you were going for though. Two, the edges of the flower on the lower left part coincide with the large change in brightness in the background. To me this makes the shape of the flower a little more vague. I wonder if you had moved the camera a little more left and down what this would look like?
The tulip has good detail. Perhaps a slight change in perspective would make this one more interesting?
These are completely subjective observations on my part.
Thanks for sharing your photos.

Re: Shades of Pink
Donald I'm glad you liked the final version of image 1.
Brian thanks for your comments and suggestions.
I think you are right about DOF in image 2. I took several shots from different angles and I probably should have paid more attention to DOF - this shot is from the side which presents a larger distance between the extremities of the flower than a front on shot. As far as the lighter background area is concerned, I could probably do a bit of selective darkening with pp.
A different perspective or perhaps a bit more of the stem may have added interest to Image 3 which I do agree is fairly simple. Maybe next time !
Thanks again
Dave
