very creative image...
Very beautiful picture (I made a fav of it on Flickr ).
I love the rounding in the waterline, that's what makes it special.
Thanks Richard, et merci bien Pierre!
It was the rounded water line that attracted me to the mirroring also, it looks a bit like a round island.
Wonderful image Rob. Lovely rich tones.
I notice that you've just posted it at 640px on the long side. And that is maybe a bit small to properly appreciate it.?
You can post up to 1600px, although CiC will re-size it inside the post to 700. But by then clicking on the image, we see it in a Lightroom at the larger size.
Thanks Donald, I have replaced it with 1024px, and added the original colour version.
I like the colour version best; I was seeing symmetry everywhere and then in colour.
I don't know of it is the color or the round shape, like an eye, but I like the color one much better.
In fact, I'll bet you could superimpose a beautiful gal's eye and make a really facinating composite image, complete with a catchlight!
Thank you for sharing, Rob!
The colour one for me too -These are superb, a pleasure to view.
I prefer the colour version too but (sorry there has to be a 'but' ) the pronounced halo around the reflected tree rather spoils the illusion for me, but (here's another one ) I'm sure a little work in the editing suite will soon have that put right. Excellent work Rob.
Many thanks for your kind comments.
I think I prefer the colour version also.
When I first answered there was only a b/w version.
Although most likes the colored one more,I still stick to the b/w version. The composition is better to my opinion. The colored one has very fine colors, so I like to see the b/w in color too.... .
What the picture makes special to me (I really thought about that ) is, that where you expect the symmetry (horizontal line) the symmetry isn't there because of the rounding. On the other hand where you don't expect a symmetry (vertical) it suddenly emerges. That makes it very special and true eye candy.
Wow Rob! Very well done!
Many thanks for the second viewing Pierre.
Mark - the 180 deg rotation gives it a different feel again. It now looks like an attol with the open side towards you, very nice!
Joe - many thanks (I have added you as Flickr contact also )
