It was kinda hard to practice my panning with all the people squished together at the front! Now I understand why the photographers were coming early, putting up chairs and roping an area off around them to keep the gawkers from getting in their way!

These put me in mind (especially the second one for some reason) of the other Mike's (Clactonian) thread of images of the Red Arrows. I think it (your second one) is a very dynamic image. Captures what I think the atmosphere must be like at one of these shows.

Good stuff.

What shutter speed did you have on the 3rd one in order to freeze all of that?

I really like Mike's Red Arrow pics. Thanks for leading me to that link, I must've overlooked it. There were actually 5, one being a Mig. Geez, it was so fast it felt like I was getting whiplash trying to follow it with my camera!

3rd pic: 1/1600 shutter speed at 400 iso, f/11

Here are all the planes in that group, but nothing as spectacular as the Red Arrows!
