Nice shot...took a second to see the double yellow line...bad floods, I take it.
yep, bad floods. have pictures of extinguished Salmon stuck up on the road, they just go and go till they can go no more
That's a very cool shot , jon. It also took me a second to spot the yellow line. Very well done though, I like it .
Nice pic Jon.
Is that up in the Duvall/Snoqualmie area?
Very cool Jon. Beautiful shot! Everytime I hear " Index" I think of Harry and the Hendersons" LOL!
Off US2, Index-Galena Rd about 6 miles, use to take you up to Jacks Pass, not sure when they plan on fixing it. Humpy's have started running up the rivers so there may be some fish action shots coming later
I was so taken with the blurred water that I didn't see the yellow line, either. You must have picked your time of day carefully. The light in the far trees is...what's the correct way to say that it makes that part pop and makes the photo seem crisp against the blurred water? Effective use of light? It's got "it", anyway
Yep, know the area well Jon. Many years back I trapped an awful lot of beaver up in those drainage areas, not to mention how incredible the steelhead fishing was back then.
I live right on the Skagit, just below where the Baker enters. The Pinks are already in thick, but the season doesn't open above the Dalles Bridge till the 16th of next month.
For those unfamiliar with the terms "Humpy" or "Pink", we are referring to the Pink Salmon runs that are just beginning here in our region. In decades past, there would be so many fish choked into one spot on the river that you could almost cross the river walking on their backs. Not so much today, but we are expecting a huge run this year.

Gorgeous image of a river...then I saw the double yellow lines!
Brillliant spot and a good capture.
The shutter speed your used, was perfect for this.
A brilliant shot...
A real 'Wow' shot Job, beautiful execution and presentation.
Thanks for all the positive feedback, right place at the right time. This is the first time I have gotten the blurred water on purpose like it so much I then went out and bought a Singh Ray Vari ND filter to play with
