Art-Deco - Limoges' Finest
A few shots from different POV's of Limoges Railway Station, one of the best Art Deco buildings in the region.
Any preference on best POV?

This one shows the French love of vista - all lines lead to the tower.

Re: Art-Deco - Limoges' Finest
POV 1 for sure-well, that's the one I prefer because the second one does nothing for that beautiful fountain.I've been back and forth between them and now I see maybe another reason, apart from losing most of the fountain the edging of it draws a line almost centre, well at least a third but it tends to dominate so having seen this I think I'd want to stand beyond the fountain with an ultra-wide lens and then give space around the building to straighten up the tower which I think think would lean a bit. What a fantastic railway station- a beautiful scene and so is the last photo. My wife and I visit friends close to Chateau Brionne Brittany and we travel around so I know what stunning architecture you have.

I'd agree. In compositional terms we not only see the building, but also see its grandeur in its location. So that. fro me, is a much more complete and interesting image.

Pic 1 for sure.
Evokes some emotions that I am not able to say in photography terms. Its scale, colours, composition, perspective etc all say something. Excellent pic.

Nice images, Rob. About the only thing I would try in a situation like this is to take multiple identical shots of # 1 & 2 and see if it is possible to clone out the automobiles (if they are moving) as they really don't add to the scene.

Re: Art-Deco - Limoges' Finest
Thanks all - POV 1 it is then!
It does have a more "balanced" feel about it.
Frank - there are some things we find in images after taking them that really do annoy - one is cars, and my other pet hate is overhead power lines (of which there are plenty in France). I agree about the cloning, particularly as #1 seems to have a car "crashing" into the fountain
oops!
I really like the idea of taking multiple images to allow for later cloning - very clever, I will do that next time I come across the dreaded cars - thanks!

Thanks Dave
It's unanimously #1.
Now to get rid of that car...
