Hello from South Africa

Hi,

Just recently came across this website and forum, and like what I see. My name is Angelique and I live in South Africa. Photography is my greatest love, even though I'm not any good at it (just yet). I enrolled at "The Photography Institute" just more than a week ago. I have a full time job, so "studying" at night and on the weekends. The course doesn't feel like work or study though, I'm enjoying it a lot so far.

Got my first DSLR (Canon 1000D) a month ago, as a gift, and totally in love. Anyway, glad to be apart of this community, and looking forward to meeting new people.

Hi Angelique,
I was fortunate enough to spend a few years working in your beautiful country 30-something years ago. I would give my eye-teeth to spend another year there with a pocketful of memory cards. You'll find a few images from those days on my Flickr page.
Enjoy your photography, you have a huge panorama or spectacular images just waiting to be taken by you. Go for it!

Unfortunately I don't have the finances to travel to the various beautiful places here.. Most of them are quite far away from where I am staying. I see you went to Zimbabwe, but you do not want to go there in today's day and age. I added you as a contact on Flickr, love your photography.

I'm also from SA and you chose the right forum to join, I'v only been here for a while and already I have learned soooo much.
And SA has some really amazing photographic opportunities, even if you don't have the opportunity to travel far, so just keep at it and I hope you learn to love CiC

Thanks Tobias! It's great to see another South African here. I have lived all over Gauteng, but currently in Jo'burg too. Would give anything to live in Cape Town though, my favourite place.
