As I expected, here in Brasilia there were no moon tonight, it is raining and it was not possible to see the moon. Maybe next time.

Chris, I think you're on the right track, but you might try it at f/8 and 1/125 (or
faster). The Moon is at 85% of full and if your sky is cloudless that's a bunch of light,
so a nice open aperture and quick shutter should do it. Your EXIF data says you were
at ISO 100, and that should be good, but I might take a couple at ISO 200 just to
be safe.
We had beautiful skies this morning, then it clouded over threatening rain..I could
smell it coming, then, about an hour later it all cleared and we had a mostly sunny
afternoon. I went out for a shoot, and on the way home I could see the Moon had
risen, but also saw that the dark, heavy clouds were rolling in fast. 20 min. later
there was full cloud cover...

Tommy, I am using GIMP. There are some plugins that might help, though I just haven't taken the time to figure it out. Seems that whenever I get my camera out I would rather take photos
I take it you use PS? Elements? Is adding borders pretty automated?
Maybe I'll try the 30 day thing on PSE 10 and see if it would be worth it to me.
Frank, I certainly can do know how to do that. I know how to make black lines too! I would prefer to have a single 'make border' button with some options instead of the several steps it would require to make a simenwhite border or a floating image border. I know GIMP has some plugins for stuff like that but I have never taken the time to figure out how to install a GIMP plugin.
By the way - I like your treatment of the moon![]()
Hi Brian, thank you for the kind words! Unfortunately, I don't use GIMP but in PS I don't use plug-ins for borders. I just recorded an Action as I created my first border so now it is a 'one click' operation to fire off the Action. The neat thing about an Action is that I can make it do exactly what I want and change it whenever I choose. For example, mine now lets me use the eyedropper tool to select a border color just by clicking on any color in the image I'm framing so I guess it is now two clicks instead of just one. LOL!
No moon last night.....Better luck next time.
Totally overcast, and today we finally have some much needed rain.
Some nice shots and I like the creative thinking behind the girl holding the moon shot. Trekked up to the Peak District from London for acres of cloud. Judging by Tommy's shot I should have stayed in London 200 miles further south for a clear shot!
