Andrew, selective of not, I do like the colors and composition of this photo.
I am a complete amateur so take this with a grain of salt: The DOF or point of focus may be a little off? I mean, what is the subject of this photo? Being bright red, it seems natural to me that it is the barn, though it isn't in good focus?

Bah!! Good call Brian, my original edit was 'sans' red roof - but someone suggested otherwise - what do you think of this one??

Andrew, I do like the first photo you posted. The red roof is definitely what makes the whole image 'pop' for me. I just wish the red roof was more in focus. Regardless, it is a good photo as you originally posted. I have tried and failed to take similar type photos with much less success!
