Hi. I'm no expert, but what I try and to (with a face on shot) is get the face in focus and use a fast shutter speed. Take your time when aiming and slowly press the button. Practice practice and practice some more
It's coming to the right time of year so there will be lots of them about now. If you know of a park where there is lots that would be ideal.

Slowly and squirrels, now there's a challenge!

What I mean is slow everything down with yourself, if you start rushing I've found the pictures are slightly blur. Better one good one than 10 bad ones

Thanks Dave. This guy does funny things every time we meet. Yesterday did a "my arm hurts" and a "you look terrible, I dont want to look at you". Occupies the same tree and fiercely chases off any intrusion into his territory.

hahaha... I have a few like that around here.

Does look like he is balancing on a ball doesn't it. That's just a top of a feeder. My mate Dove (the bird) on the other hand is slowly leaning I'm not a danger and I can get close....... but that would be another thread

Like the first one best Samantha. I had one pop out in front of me today, It froze and I took a quick shot. I forgot I had all the setting wrong as a minute before I was shooting some birds... DOH!!
