Canon 5D Mark 2 Lens centre to tripod mount dimension
Hi,
I'm in the process of designing my own panoramic head and was wondering if anyone knows the dimension from the tripod mounting plane to the centre of the lens mount. I need this so I can make sure that the camera is rotating about the correct axis in portrait orientation, obviously in landscape mode it is already rotating about the centre line.
I could measure it, but there must be an official dimension for this somewhere.
Thanks in advance
Mike

Re: Canon 5D Mark 2 Lens centre to tripod mount dimension
Thanks for the link Russ
I did actually phone Canon up, but still waiting for a reply. So in the mean time I measured it myself using vernier callipers etc.
I found the measurement to be 43mm.
Cheers
Mike
