You'd almost wish the rest of the world was a bit more like the people of this forum
Hi Donald, I searched everywhere for 't4h controls' but am unable to find it. Is this an abbreviation of something I am ignorant about? I honestly wish to get the most out of this camera, and am willing to spend the time to learn the controls you are speaking of. Please could you elaborate what these controls are? Thanks.
I should have figured out the typo myself. Think I need the upcoming vacation after all! Cheers.
Regarding lens choice. My suggestion for travel with the 60D is the Tamron 18-270. It is light, shoots macro, and with a 2X adapter gets tremendous distance. It also has a 6 year warranty compared with the 1 year Canon lenses. I have a number of lenses for my 20D and 5D. Some are L series. However I use my old 18-200 Tamron for travel. The 18-270 with VR is probably the best travel lens you can buy. My problem with Tamron is barrel creep (rather minor). I would not suggest an F2.8 lens for the traveller with strength issue or arthritis. Too big and heavy. The Tamron Pro series is shorter and lighter than the Canon -- but there is still a price to carrying an F2.8 lens in the field to gain one stop of light With ISO being as good as it is now compared with film days when you wouldn't shoot at 800 -- I see no reason for blowing money on an F2.8 lens for travel. Good luck..
