Both are fine images. But in this set I'd focus my attention on the second one.
What I particularly like is the juxtaposition that puts the old ship against the backdrop of the modern city. On one hand you could argue that it's too much of a jumble and too busy. But, in this case, I think that's its strength. We see both that in past times and modern times life was complex and demanding; busy and purposeful. It just tells me that, yes, the technology and the way things are done is different between the two eras, but essentially the business of trade and commerce was and remains at the cornerstone of a functioning society.

Both are good compositions under what are otherwise almost impossible situation to separate subject from background.
