Nope...Not everyone has one....yet..
Actually had a chance for a shot of one today, but didn't have time between appointments to spend..
Joe: I like how you framed #1 and 3, but to be honest it looks like the sky is a bit noisy on all 3. Do you
think that is from the exposure, or could it be that your camera is due for a sensor cleaning?
Mike
Hi Mike,
Maybe what you are seeing as noise is because the originals were 35mm slides which were scanned to post here. Otherwise not sure what it would be. Thanks for taking the time to look at them and for your comment. In the 80's and early 90's photography was a passionate pursuit, I have only recently had a renewed interest trying to remember what I learned and working hard to get better. Once again thank you.
That makes it a much, much better image, I think.
I'm like Mike above and have led a deprived life in which I've never photographed a lighthouse. But I can still enjoy the efforts of others.
I'm sure there was a thread on here a while back that featured lighthouses (someone might want to try a search). But these are an impressive set of images so far.
Like has been said, this could become a long thread.
Looks like you got two-in-one there Frank. Is that an older one further out?
Hi Donald, that's the Ram Island Lighthouse built in 1905 on the other side of the Cape Elizabeth channel leading into Portland. Portland Head Light was commissioned by George Washington in 1790. You can find both of them in Goggle Earth just south of Portland, Maine.
Here is a shot I grabbed off the internet of the Ram Island Lighthouse to give you a closer look...

Great pictures, thank you so much for joining in.
thanks Frank,
I think the "red rocket ship" is a wind vane to show the direction of the wind. But then again, it could be something completely different
To be honest I hadn't really noticed it before, one of the great things about being able to share pictures in a place like this is having fresh eyes looking at your work and seeing things that you didn't

I followed Frank's link from another thread. What say we take another crack at this thread? I used to make a living on the water and have a fondness for lighthouses. So I try to grab an image whenever I run across them far or near. Here are a couple without doing repeats of a couple of my favorites that others have already posted
Bass Harbor Light on Mt. Desert Island, ME (aka Acadia NP)
Heceta Head, OR
Cape Disappointment, WA
Nugget Point, South Island, NZ
