Re: The River Clown (pic intensive, sorry!)
#7 and #6 are great for me. And #5 is most interesting, probably a oncer shot, as they say![Smile](https://cdn.cambridgeincolour.com/forums/images/smilies2/smile.png)

Nice series Bobo...from the looks of it, he stayed at the bar too late last night..![Big Grin](https://cdn.cambridgeincolour.com/forums/images/smilies2/biggrin.png)
Like Heron's, they are probably very graceful once they get off the ground.

Re: The River Clown (pic intensive, sorry!)
Thanks Ken and Mike.
They are more active and walk around quite a bit if they are looking for food.
It was early evening so not that late. The lens would not have handled the light without going way up on the ISO.
The barge is towed out to sea every hour or so for offloading. I have seen from a distance a fair bunch of herons and egrets chasing after them and flitting around grabbing stuff. Hope to catch the action as soon as possible. Was going today but weather turned.

Bobo
Good handling of the tones. I always think that these white birds against darker backgrounds must be a bit of a challenge. But you've nailed the exposure in each one of them.

Thanks Donald.
Yes whites for me are always a problem so was pretty happy with this shoot. The keeper rate was also fantastic - almost 75%. Will put this down to having a lucky day!

Re: The River Clown (pic intensive, sorry!)
Hi Bobo,
colors and tones are very impressive as the composition in no.1, 3 and 5 is too! As Donald mentioned, you managed the white colors and the dark background very well. The crop in no.2 is not my taste (but that's not a measure at all
) I might have used a larger frame here...speculating for some reflections of the bird in the water. And no.4 lacks the nice tones - is it maybe slipped trough in the post processing???
In no.6 I would have placed the bird a bit more to right side in order to archive a more balanced composition.
No.7...great action shoot!

Re: The River Clown (pic intensive, sorry!)
Thanks Marcus.
Yes in 4, missed that one but hoped no one noticed
But there were 47 keeper shots of just this ONE guy.
Can certainly recrop 2 and 6. There is plenty of space around the subject. Actually 6 slipped the net as well. That center crop was certainly not the intention.
