Re: Dolphins
Pretty good for having the wrong lens.

Re: Dolphins
I love the images but wish that the dolphins were a bit larger in the frame. One of the most beautiful things I have ever seen was a school of dophins playing in the blue-green water on a sunny day off Mexico's Baja California coast. They were cavorting in the bow wave of the relatively small fishing boat I was on and I could almost have leaned over and touched them. NO DARN IT - I DIDN'T HAVE A CAMERA HANDY!

Re: Dolphins
Those are cropped about 50%. I was on the Alaska ferry out of Bellingham, probably 50 feet above the water.
I had a 55-200 lens in my bag at my side, but figured I'd be better off getting shots than spending the 30 seconds or so swapping lenses, as they only ran parallel with the boat for about 45 seconds.
Suffice to say I now keep my 55-200 on my camera, set to burst mode, when expecting unexpected photo ops like this.
1200x1000 crop
