These are taken on the seafront at Scarborough, Yorkshire, just for the fun of the bright colours. And I know the highlights are blown - but so is your money in there!
They are shot with a Lumix LX5 compact camera - hand-held, and using the available light.

Yes but it is really just the second photo that suffers from a bit of highlight loss and because those areas are behind the glass of the machines it doesn't detract too much from the overall scene.

I do like these. Bright happy colours and a good sense of fun.

I think the key to remember here is it is not as much about the gear but knowing how to use what you have and being able to see and compose a shot that makes strong images. Well done.
