I think you captured it beautifully. It is a very sensitive picture. I wouldnt change a thing

The content is good, but there are some things that might help improve some 'next time'.
For the record, EXIF shows; 1/13s at f/6.3 at iso 3200 180mm on a Sony DSLR-A700
Was it under exposed?
Was it a signicant crop?
Was it shot RAW (not jpg)?
I ask because it is quite noisy, that could be improved in PP by use a suitable 3rd party solution like Neat Image.
Also in PP, a little 'burning' down of some highlights would help.
There is slight subject movement, an elongated catchlight in his eye shows this, but it doesn't look like camera shake.
Well caught expression though and much could still be done in PP if shot RAW.

Only a small crop, but unfortunately this was taken before I started shooting raw. I have since corrected that mistake- wish I could go back and reshoot all those JPEGS
