Colour..most certainly!
Gives depth.
and if you think the trees have more depth in B/w then play with levels and contrasts until you get the efect you want

Are Big Horn Sheep anything like Goats, where they'll say I like you lets be pals by trying to crash skulls together ?
The only thing missing from the color Fog scene would be a train coming around the tracks.

The special effect used in the 2nd photo and the subject of the 3rd do not enthuse me, so it is the 1st atmospheric evocative image that appeals the most. On my monitor, the colours of this one appear slightly too warm and saturated for a misty autumn morning. However, to answer the question with regard to just this photo, I think it can achieve its purpose equally well either in colour or when converted to black and white.

Difficult to make a comparison with the heavy vignetting in th BW version. I'll go for the colour. Like your sheep.
