Hi James...What a lovely place.
For me I would crop the sky to make the waterfall and pool the focus..the sky is such a similar shade of blue that my eye drifts off up and out of the shot and the water loses impact .
Did you use a circular Polarizer? They are really good in bright sun when dealing with reflective surfaces like water. ...in fact mine's rarely off the camera no matter what I am shooting.they are a little piece of magic.
Hi Daisy
no i dont have a polarizer, however i did have a grey grad filter on,
will crop the image and repost, thanks for your comments

I think that's much improved James...and that you could even crop a little tighter on all sides still if you wanted.
Only my personal opinion for what that is worth
Really draws the eye in to the waterfall now.,,Nice one!
The sky and trees looks great and so does the waterfall and the pool.
Every waterfall pic always shows a pool, how about taking it out so that water appears to be going into infinity? Then both the sky and water will not fight each other for attention. Or go long on the crop.
Just a crazy suggestion mind you - Daisy's comment would be the proper and normal way.
I'm not normally a difficult person, James.
But I prefer the original as those trees against the sky give an impression of height to the waterfall. The second image could be merely a 2 ft high fall.
And I do like seeing water that looks like water, as with this excellent shot. I'm not a fan of those extra slow shutter speeds which turns the water 'milky' and lifeless.
