Every year in Australia, Canon run a competition called "Photo 5" - they give you subjects to which you have to interpret the brief and create an image. Thought I'd share some of my efforts showing ribbon and movement. (Other briefs were low light / sequins, macro / foam, fast shutter / powder, through pets eyes)
I'd love to hear thoughts on these!
These were created using a flash set for 3 fires @ 3 Hz - bouncing off a white reflector (I don't have soft box)
This was the image that I entered and was my preference!

Nice compositions.
To me - a tad too dark and busy.
