Rescued Owl
Hi all
Had a visit to a bird of prey sanctuary today, took a few pictures of the rescued birds, this is the 1st one i have looked at and hopefully some of the others will turn out ok.
I have done a little PP on it though, i changed the background to something a little better, however this was trial and error on my part and i realise there is room for improvement especially round the edges..tips in this direction are more than welcome,
hope you like

Re: Rescued Owl
This is quite good in my opinion. I would have liked to see the entire tail and feet. I might also consider tightening up the crop on the right side. The eyes make the shot for me and another option might be crop that focuses on the eyes instead of the entire owl.
My 2 cents...

Re: Rescued Owl
Hi Scott
thanks for your 2 cents worth, appreciate it,
i opted not to include the feet and tail has it was sat on the handlers hand which did not seem to look right in all honesty, had he sat it on a perch or stump i would have included them, who knows? maybe next time....
more right hand side crop
cropped to focus on the eyes

Re: Rescued Owl
I may have been wrong in my suggestion. The background change looks better with the wider crop. The tighter shot make the background change a bit too obvious. The choice not to include the handler makes sense. What was the original background? Was it completely unmanagable?
