Steve - thanks for commenting. I know what you mean. But, for me, flipping it removes it too far from reality for me to consider it as an option.

LOL. Apparently went with "masterfully" and not with "processed", so it meant superbly and not obviously or obtrusively processed. The flip was just an exercise, a test to satisfy my curiosity. What I was trying to say is that you could have taken a second picture with the deck at your left (but maybe the background wasn't right).

Steve - I understood that and thank you for posting the comment, because as soon as I saw it, it made perfect sense. And I can 'see' the image perfectly. All I need to do is get on the phone and book the cottage for a couple of weeks again next year and go down and get that shot.

I am thinking of doing that. Because we're getting work done on our house next spring, we're not going to be looking at any exotic holiday's/vacations. Going down to south-west Scotland is relatively inexpensise and easy to reach. And it's such a beautiful place.

I just know there are a lot more images to be made on Castle Creavie farm.

Hi Donald: I love this image as is and although I think all of the suggestions have merit, I'm not sure anything really needs to be changed. The tree on the right could be cloned out or if possible extend the crop to include the whole tree. The deck does make the foreground look a little heavy, but.... well I can't imagine it any other way. I love the texture in the old wood and the fallen leaves on the pond and the smooth tranquillity of the water and the way it contrasts with the background which to me looks like there is a cold damp wind blowing in the distance.

Long story short the feeling I get when looking at this shot is a beautiful tranquil sheltered refuge on a cold fall day. Some may want to go and fish from the end of the dock. I would like to sit there and listen.

I don't think you should hesitate at all to present it to the owners of the cottage. I think they will love it.
