Meet the wife, the wife, the wife

Haven't been long in portraiture/people photography, but the basic full frontal has never appealed to me.
A different take on people (based on a pic I once saw, women in a disco setting wearing various footwear).
Any comments on how to improve are welcome. (What a nightmare it would be to retake this shot , just a glutton for punishment I guess).

So, here we are, a happily married couple.

Yes, I've seen that idea before as well. But that doesn't detract from your highly effective and well-executed version of the same, particularly the fact that apart from those lovely shapely legs in the boots in the centre, the others all belong to the same person.

Now, I don't know how you do that.

... and for those who really don't know how it was done (no chance was my wife gonna let me pose semi clothed with 6 semiclad pretties)...
6 shots of the same model wearing different footwear. I marked the carpet with painters tape to place each 'model' so the shadows were appropriate to each position.
Finally PSE 7 was used to position and blend each set of legs in relation to the others using layer masks (not an obvious option in PSE 7, but there is a simple workaround, not sure what PSE 10 has, looking forward to finding out).
Blending carpet onto carpet was an easier choice than blending the shoes in with the carpet.
The hardest part was blending the legs well. Some have been done well and some I am still struggling with (some selective blurring, smudging, dodging, burning, and anything else I can think of).

I had fun doing this - creating an image rather than finding an image.

    Nicely done, Graham!

    “Every” man’s fantasy. . .

I had to laugh. The thing is almost “pornographic” what with those pale, hairy legs, with red knees all in hiking boots cruising among the elegant ones.

Unlike so many men, you at least have calves.

... and they haven't seen the light of day for MANY years.
In bright light they are a gleaming distraction for all sorts of activities - drivers beware.

Anyway, you got my vision of the shot. Thank you, someone else who thinks as I do (people in a white van will be calling shortly, don't be alarmed, the sedatives work wonders).

I almost always slightly overexposed (ETTR) and bring back the colour. In this case, not much to bring back for my legs.

Dancing helps with the calf definition, but genetics helps more.

I love the boots with red shoe laces. They'd make a picture in themselves.
(and the rest makes a lovely picture too)

    Thanks Maria,
I started the shoot focussing on using the boots, but gave up, moving onto the original idea of the legs.
But here is the not so good shot of the boots. You can see why I gave up, not nearly so entertaining.

Yes, indeed, dancing and cycling. I can vouch for both. High heels also exercise the calves.

For those guys who do not have calves there is a solution:

Well done Graham, Miss Aniela would be proud! Here is what I came up with, just playing around. Not very convincing but it was fun!

Personally I prefer my wifes legs, no disrespect intended.

It would be weird if you didn't.

Yup pat on back is called for here.

Really great blend job you have done.

Suggestion - put it in the October monthly comp.
