Have You Ever Seen a Gooraffe?

A friend asked me to put two animals together as an example for an art class she is teaching. After all that work I thought I'd show it off. It's a Gooraffe (goose + giraffe = gooraffe). I put it into a misty, mystical setting as that seems appropriate for a mythical creature like this. I was going to post it in Phillip's "show us Your Animal" thread but it was too nice a thread to mess up with something this silly.

I love it (especially because it's silly!) I'd bet the kids loved it!

It would be cool to see a Gooraffe in the wild though

Dan, I hear they are commonly seen after the observer consumes certain mushrooms.

Hi Chuck - Are you sure it's not a Girroose? They are often mistaken for one another.

    Cheers

Might be a good topic for a new "challenge thread"?

Is this all your own photography?
Or did you use some stocks?

But aren't they the beasties with long legs, no wings, a very thin black neck and a beak?

Hi David: I thought so too at first but it told me it was a gooraffe. Then both the girroose and gooraffe are known to lie. Perhaps we'll never know.

All mine. I shot the goose in Northern California about a mile from the ranch in the background of my self portrait thread, the giraffe in the Oakland, CA zoo and the background while on a walk along a reservoire near Castro Valley, CA.

I often shoot scenes and textures that don't necessarily make a good image in their own right but which may provide a good background for text for something else.

I was sent some photos like this recently but they all had plain unnatural backgrounds which made them look artifical. Your background is superb and really makes that photo look real.
