Monochrome Mini Competition #358

[Cambridge in Colour]

This is a monochrome-themed competition that is open to all CiC members.

ENTERING. Add your MONOCHROME/B&W image in a new post below. Make sure to change your post title to a name for your picture (click the "Go Advanced" button). Only one entry per person, and any tinted images should utilize no more than one color. For help posting images, go here.

VOTING. When this competition reaches 10 entries, a poll will be automatically added and any member may then vote. After 2 days, voting ends and the winner is determined.

Once voting begins, a new competition will be automatically started.

Notes: Please do not request feedback or comment on other images until after voting has closed, as it could be unfair to other entrants. Photos must be your own, and never entered into one of our prior competitions. We also ask that only recently taken or edited photos be used as entries (in the spirit of motivating everyone to continually improve).

Congratulations, Joanne, very nice image. Good lighting, focus and DOF, and I like how you've cropped this. Your point of view is less common and very effective, and with her expression and the direction her eyes are looking, it makes me wonder what she is looking at. Well done.

Thank you for your comments Paul and Viana - Paul, I did not crop this photo it was just "messing around" with my first DSLR Camera. I read somewhere that you should always look for different angles so I just experimented. I told Lottie to just look ahead and think of something lovely so the image had a more natural feel to it. When I saw her relax I just took the photo.....It is one of my favourites as it so closely represents what I see in my daughter when I catch her in her own little world, Joanne xx

You are welcome, Joanne, and please accept my apologies; since the image is square, I assumed it had been cropped. Most digital cameras capture images that are rectangular. Good idea to have her think about something else, and good timing. What a neat way to remember your daughter. Hopefully it is on your wall somewhere. Paul
