    The Warning Sign

I was amazed at some of the things I saw in the Southern Caribbean Islands, such as on the island of Antigua....

Wondering if I relieve myself in a "discriminante" fashion, is there a fine?

One would think so, but then why the girl's outline on the sign? I'm not sure I understand that, but it certainly makes the sign a bit 'unique'.

Um, well Frank in many parts of the world—the developed world included— people still relieve themselves in public. Because that is a sort of alley, I suppose that women might also use the “facilities.” Therefore, the sign.

Been in a subway tunnel lately?

I still think that more men than women will not take note of the sign.

I'd be more worried about frying myself with all those electrical wires nearby.

You folks crack me up! I remember one time in vacation my oldest son was about 10 at the time, had to go, we were in a rural area with no else around and no facilities so he thought he could be indiscrete. Just before cutting loose I realized he was aiming at an electric fence! I stopped him just in time or that would have been one whizz -BANG he'd never forget!

The kid and you would have been whizzing by if that had occurred.

Here’s a guy who has this down: http://funnyandweirdpic.blogspot.com...ing-signs.html

Brings to mind the Richard Pryor joke (edited for television) where two well endowed and boastful gentlemen are standing on a bridge urinating into the river below. The first gentleman says "man that waters cold" and the second gentleman says "yeah and it's deep too!"

Obviously, many of you never traveled in France during the 60's....never saw so much public squatting in all my life.

That sort of "squatting" was happening all over Europe and continues today in rural areas.

Ever been in a Washington D. C. or N.Y. subway tunnel or alley?

    Re: The Warning Sign

In Beriut, Lebanon in the early 1960's (when this was a lovely city) there was at least one wall in full view that was a public urinal (obviously for men only).

Also in the 1960's many rest-rooms in Japan were used by both men and women at the same time. Obviously some cultures do not equate defecation or urination to sexuality.

However, I much prefer flushing urinals and toilets... Walls and alleyways begin to stink and are unsanitary if used as places to urinate or defecate.

BTW: I have heard that people just used corners and stairwells for urination in the Palace of Versailles during the heyday of French Royalty.
