    Amanita muscaria - Mushroom/Toadstool

After a little Googling, which wasn't as painful as it sounds, I found the name Amanita muscaria for these. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I don't know anything about mushy.

Really low light so had to use the build in flash ( I've just bought a Canon 270EX Speedlite tonight that should be with me soon).

    Link about these mushrooms/toadstools... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanita_muscaria

Taken with the new Canon 60mm macro.

Hi Dave, nice sequence of shots with great color and detail. I'm glad you avioded the urge to clean up the dirt on the caps. They look more natural this way.

Thank you for providing additional information via the link. It was interesting to read about how this mushroom influenced the storyline of Alice in Wonderland.

If you need to identify any other fungi, this wildlife site has a Fungi Forum where you can send photos and ask for identification help.

    Excellent shots.

The prettier the mushroom the more poisonous it is...

Thanks Cakey. No mushrooms today. The wind and rain is terrible.

Sure is. Not sure if touching them leads to poisoning but pretty sure eating them does.
