Shrooms

I lived in this house for over 20 yrs and never saw mushrooms grow like this before. Guess the Macro is opening up a whole new world to explore

Love the way these shrooms are huddling together as if they were scared of your macro lens! Oftentimes we have to work hard achieve just the right composition, but sometimes Mother Nature does it for us. (You still had to find it, recognize it, and get down on your hands and knees, of course!)

Well done.

Just wondering what was to the right of this pretty little scene. Did you deliberately cut the picture off on the right? Was there something there that would have distracted us?

knees yes, that little photo shoot identified knee issues, I will not be doing any low Macro work for about 6 weeks or more after wednesday

No cropping done, distraction was the rake that i was using broke up the outer bunch before I saw this family of shrooms

Tips for elderly (and not so elderly) macro photographers

Either this ---
1 - camera with articulating LCD panel for focusing and composition without having to lie right down.
2 - SLIK style table-top tripod or variants of for camera stability etc
3 - remote shutter release
3 - garden mat or any old used carpet piece with rubber backing for comfortable kneeling
4 - walking stick for extra support when kneeling down or getting up
5 - mobile phone for calling emergency services or family if needed

Or this
1 - give it up.

Been there, done that, got the tee-shirt, took it out and burned it!

Much easier on the knees or anywhere where it's difficult to directly look through the viewfinder.

Thanks all, maybe I can get macro of my knee, that might be cool.
I figure this would be a good time to suggest to the wife that a "SmallHd" monitor for my camera would ultimately save us in health care cost we'll see how that goes over. If not I just might look at the right angle view finder

I have an angled viewfinder for my 50D and love it! Found it on line in the used section of B&H dirt cheap.
