What a cruel, hard mother. Poor child* has struggled to grow up amidst multiple deprivations, not allowed to ever see the inside of a nice shop selling clothes .... and then the mother denies her a little pussy cat. Life is tough.

The cat's nice though.

P.s this is of course a portrait of the cat that has been added to our family... Window side light and speed light off camera behind her to light the ears & whiskers........ So of course one could say my training is benefiting hmmmmmmmm

I am sorry that you have a cat.
As for the photo, the cat's chin looks a little... blurry, is there some selective blurring going on there? It just seems out of place to me. I would like to know as this helps me learn more about processing my own photos.

Thanks for the sympathy Brian... But at least it's a cat and not a tattoo! Yet eek
Anyway I think the blur is a combination of very shallow DOF, but then I used a sharpen layer & brushed in the mouth to go with the eyes... Maybe that was not such a good idea, but I was trying to bring out her impishness

Well Donald the update...
she is finished yr 1 at Uni & asked for more shifts at the telstra phone store where she works.. We don't charge her board or anything like that, so she is pretty fortunate, but even so she has saved $12k & pd her car off, so we are happy with her first 'adult' year. She really loves the telco firm, so I am encouraging her to add some business/management/ subjects on top of her arts degree subjects & then try to get into their graduate program when she finishes this degree. Then she can look after us!!
Or perhaps at least use her savings for the laser tattoo removal
