What about a higher contrast effect, as per Jiro's Tutorial? I applied this effect at about 50% opacity.

I also rotated the image CW, using the fox's eyes as the line that I wanted to get level, cropped it and added a subtle vignette. I gave it a slight S-curve and played with the levels a little bit. All done in Photoshop CS5.

Jack, I really think it would be useful if you read This tutorial on how to post images on the forums.

It would also be nice if, when you post an image, you tell us a bit about your equipment and PP software and how you captured it. If there is a particular aspect of PP that you want constructive advice on then also state that in your post.

    Cheers

That's a good shot for hand held at 800mm.

Nice shot Jack. the original, without the extra contrast, is great. It's like he's looking directly at the lens, eerie. Excellent post, looks like a natural habitat.

great capture. However, this is the wrong forum--as the title indicates, it's a forum to discuss post-processing and printing. You would probably get more response if you posted it in the Nature and Architecture forum. In that forum too, people will appreciate some explanation, as you provided in your second post.

I think Tommy's edit is an improvement, although I might have done a bit less.
