I'm sure you had a great trip... thanks for sharing your photo.
Did you crop the photo? do you any more room to work with?
I agree about the knee... I think if you go tighter to across his mid knee or wider down to his mid shin on the leg that is on the ground that might help.
If you have extra crop space you could even try tilting the photo to the left.
If you leave the photo perspective as you could then pull a graduated darkening filter up over his legs to around the lower guitar strings. May also a vignette.
Also you might try blurring out the back ground a bit.
