    Bridge Camera Recognition

I am having a problem with Adobe Bridge CS5 not recognizing my Canon 50D. I always have to download from windows then open folder in Bridge. It really isnt that big of a deal but wish I could download directly from and into Bridge. Anyone have any advice as to what the problem may be?
    Thanks

Are you attaching the camera directly to the computer or inserting the memory card into a slot? How old is your computer and if you are using a USB slot is it 1.0 or 2.0?

    Re: Bridge Camera Recognition

I purchased a micro USB/USB data cord for a tracfone with digital image capabilities. All of the reviews stated that the data cord would function as a phone charger but they could not get the computer to recongnize it as a secondary storage device, the tracfone has a micro-SD memory card inserted for additional storage. Sure enough, I could not get the computer to recognize it as a storage device until I turned off the device twice, then windows finally recognized the device and installed the proper driver for the device. Sometimes it helps to peruse the manufacturer's website or a forum dedicated to your device to see if others are having similar problems with their instruments.

Not sure about canon, but nikon has two usb-connection modes. in one mode it presents itself as a mass-storage device while in the other mode you have a more direct connection (ao. for tethered shooting and nikon's own software). Canon might have something similar.

If you still have this issue, it will be a big help if you will clarify your problem. I can guess that your PC can detect your Canon 50D, but you can't let Adobe Bridge recognize it?

Do you have the EOS utility installed?
