Is it only Photoshop has layer feature?
See some of the layer features in Youtube and impressed with its power in portrait photo.

yes, I know Photoshop always come together with sharp learning curve. But, if the softwear works, it deserve to climb one mountain at a time.

Gimp (free), of course, has layers but that's also a steep learning curve
program. Adobe Elements 9.0 has Adjustment Layers and Layer
Masking ability. At under $100, Elements is a great buy with almost
all of the features found in the full versions of Photoshop.
