Very nice capture and I love how sharp the horse is! It's a shame you weren't able to catch a bit more of the rider's face as she looks like she's not too pleased about the water hitting her legs!

I saw f16 and thought that was a very shallow DoF for f16 ......... but then I saw 800mm.

That's lovely, Mark. The DoF is just perfect, in my opinion. You've nailed the horse and rider beautifully and the background is thrown out of focus by just the right amount.

    Hi Mark,

Nice shot, I too would like to see the rider's face.

Forgive me for mentioning it; but is that a pair of light+dark halo lines around horse and rider I see before me?
Perhaps too broad a radius in sharpening?
Most noticeable around horse's ears and rump, plus down the rider's back (the shot has to be viewed full size to see it properly)

LOVE it! I was contemplating a ride in the SNOW the other day and vetoed the idea in the name of safety due to ice underneath. To me, this is close to perfection. Beautiful capture of those gorgeous green waves. The chestnut horse is burnished just right. Sigh...

Hope that saddle is synthetic and not leather

Cool photo, I agree with what everyone has said, including the part about hoping that saddle isn't leather, and if it is, hopefully was just reconditioned to be way too slippery

Lovely image, I like the composition, the sharpness of the rider the horse and the splashes of the water...oh and the DOF is just right for me.
