Project 52 for me will be the opportunity to learn more about the technical side of photography. Learning how to take a photo and then learning the PP of photography. The technical side can be quite confusing for me, its slowly sinking in, but I want to get to a point where I can look at my surroundings and clearly know what camera settings I'll need.

I'd also like to experiment with Still Life Photography and Architecture.

This is one I took yesterday. I think I took the same photo 50 times, but just changed the speed, aperture and ISO settings for each

I'm not sure what I'm looking at, but it doesn't matter. For me this is a super study of line and form, shape and texture. And for that to be the case, the lighting is all-important, as it's light that give the form and definition to an object. Impressive start to the project.

Only comment, too large of an image. Even onliine you want to control how the viewer sees the image for the first time. If they need to see minute detail let them zoom in. Nice image.

I disagree. I'm running widescreen at 1920 and I appreciate this image uses the screen more than most.

But what's your zoom percentage? The image won't fit on my monitor unless I zoom in to 100%, if I leave as is it fills the screen. And regarding the size of the image, you don't want imperfections jumping right out at you so I think small or at a controlled distance is better.

I also like the larger images.

I am not sure if it is my screen (a new IPS that has not been calibrated yet), the image seems to be a little over saturated. I do like the different lines offered by the different portions of the subject.

I just looked at it on my other (TN) screen. There is a huge difference in the saturation.

I've been playing with Macro lately, its definitely something I'd like to improve on. I also wanted to play with ordinary items that could be made to look more artistic

Kerry, your first image I'm going to field a guess and say is a leaf of some sort on your deck? I love the composition and the slight use on vignetting to direct your attention to your subject. The detail and texture in this image is great. The only one thing I feel is off is the saturation level. If you were to knock it down a notch or two you would have a much more natural tone. Great capture, definitely print worthy.

I really like your second image of the wine bottle & glass too. I think you nailed the DOF and your bokeh is nice and smooth with great detail in your focal point. Your going to do well with macro if this is how you're getting started. May I ask what lens or extension tube/lens combo you used for this shot?

I like the toning that you've applied to this. It's very easy to overdo it. But this works well.

1:2.7 reproduction ratio on this lens. I'm not sure when I'm going to get it back from her!

Week 2 sees me still playing with Macro. Still trying to work out my likes and dislikes of the lens However I thoroughly enjoy bringing objects to life with Macro.
