Allow me to be the marriage counselor.... I like both and I am not a flower kinda guy.... I think that the shapes in the first is what is highlighted by being a BW. The curves are very eye catching. The second stands alone with the rich colors fading and I notice the texture as a second pass. The finite details in both are just right IMHO

So I guess week 10 saw me getting yet another lesson in PP.
This photo was taken pretty much in the middle of nowhere on the way to my Mothers who lives in Rural Australia and as the countryside of Australia is generally just green paddocks and dead trees, lots of cows and then more paddocks and dead trees, this kinda stood out
I really wanted the red of the car to stand out and initially did a B&W with the red car, but Mal and I thought it would look a little nicer with the cepia colour tones.

Hi Kerry, I'm still trying to catch up with all the posts I've missed and I see from all of your lovely images that you have been making some lovely photographic 'Majjak'. This one stopped me in my tracks. What in the world is a car doing up a tree? It reminds me of the Harry Potter films! Did you put it there in post processing or did you just happen to trip over this bizarre situation?

Now that is not something you see everyday. Do you know why it is there? I think this would work in BW but I do like the greens.

But it's also a very good image. I like the composition and the fact that you've stood far enough back to let us see the location.

Hi Frank. no that isnt PP, LOL, the car is stuck to the tree Its on the way to my Mum's place, in a paddock in the middle of nowhere, I just wish there had been some cows around it too.

Mmmm weird lot in rural Australia, after the recent floods have seen quite a few things up in trees, but nothing as great as that car, love the composition and the colour, nicely framed by the surrounding bush, great that you had your camera with you, these are the type of things you see when you don't.
I will just get the hay out of my hair and go talk to the cows

11 weeks into 2012 WOW where has the time gone.
I havnt had any time to take photos this week so busy - I've given up work to run my own business and am busier than ever, but its mine all mine Anyway, we took the kids to Dreamworld Theme Park yesterday, Mal took his camera which I have no idea of how to use. However while he took our son on The Tower Of Terror, I found a comfy place to wait, and had a little visitor, he was a real poser, and stayed with me for about 1/2hr, I later found out that he was actually waiting for some food?? I've heard of birds waiting for food, but lizards? Im hoping Mal will post his photos, because when Mal joined me I handed the camera over and tossed the little fellow some chocolate covered shortbread (probably really bad for him, but it was just a tiny bit) and this guy devoured it. Mals photos are brilliant of this guy with a mouth full of biscuit. But these are a few that I took. They are in my project 52 as I had a few challenges A: a camera I'm not used to B: The softly softly approach for skittish animals, I'm not normally very good at and C: I was right under the tracks of a massive theme ride, which came over the top of me every few minutes. So having the skittish animal, a much heavier camera I'm not used to and the thundering noise of a ride every few minutes was a challenge for me

Kerry, I like your photos. And thank you for the background information. I don't think I have ever seen reptiles that learned to beg for food. The detail you captured is quite remarkable.

That second one gives it a real prehistoric look. You can imagine it a 100 the size and the little bits of food being people (or is that just how I'm feeling on a Monday morning!?)

Such an imagination, Donald! I'll bet you could replace the ants in the picture with people running and screaming, then zoom in on just the front of the lizard for effect!

Sorry Kerry. Shouldn't have gone off track. Both shots are well captured but the second one really has interesting action to it and made me expand the image to see what the lizard was after. Great subject!
